A little further away, but easily accessible from LuxOase

The forests along the Spree River (Spreewald) has the charm of Venice - though instead of pigeons, you’ll find plenty of pickles! This regional delicacy is offered on almost every corner. There’s something truly magical about being gently poled through the village of Lehde on a traditional barge, or exploring the tranquil waterways with your family in a rented canoe - no traffic noise, just peace, nature, and romance.

A trip to Poland (about 60 minutes by car from LuxOase) is also worthwhile to get a glimpse of our neighboring country. The Czech Republic is even closer - less than a 45-minute drive away - and offers not only the picturesque landscape of Bohemian Switzerland, which borders Saxon Switzerland, but also beautiful towns such as Děčín, Liberec, and of course, Prague.

Prague, the “Golden City,” is no farther from LuxOase than Berlin. In just under two hours by car, you can reach this world-famous metropolis - the royal and imperial capital of the Czech Republic.

Tip: From Easter until the end of October (the final trip of the 2025 season will take place on October 30, 2025), we offer a weekly day excursion to Prague (usually on Thursdays), including a lively 2.5-hour guided walking tour of the city’s main sights and about 3 hours of free time for your own exploration. Leave your car safely at LuxOase and travel comfortably and directly from the campsite to one of Europe’s most significant cultural cities - a destination everyone should visit at least once.
